Mission, Vision & Values
God has desired to connect with humanity through Christ's redeeming work since creation. The Bible tells us that He uses local churches as part of this redemptive process. Northbridge Community Church exists for this reason and it is our hope to fulfill a unique role in God's plan for Rochester with our mission, vision, and values listed below.
God's Plan
Two Great Commands - One Great Commission:
The life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ made it possible for us to become God’s children and members of his church. During his earthly ministry, Christ gave the church two great commands - love God with all your heart and love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:37-40). He also gave the church one great commission - to glorify Him by making and equipping disciples (Matthew 28:19-20).
Mission
Exalt God, Teach Believers, Make Disciples
Vision
Transforming lives through the power of God's Word
Core Values
Biblical Veracity
God’s words are true (Psalm 119:160), and He cannot lie. The word of the Lord is right and true, and He is faithful in all He does (Psalm 33:4). He sanctifies us by His truth; His word is truth (John 17:17) as we trust in Jesus, who is truth (John 14:6).
Humility
Having the love of Christ, do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests, but to the interests of others (Philippians 2:1-11).
Prayer
Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective (James 5:16).
Obedience
If you love me, keep my commands (John 14:15), doing what the word says (James 1:22). And this is love, that we walk in obedience to his commands (2 John 1:6).
Unity
Bear with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:2-3). Behold, how good and pleasant it is when God’s people dwell together in unity (Psalm 133:1). Forgive as the Lord forgave you and be bound together in love and perfect unity (Colossians 3:13-14).
Generosity
Do good, be rich in good deeds, and be generous and willing to share (1 Timothy 6:18), remembering that Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35), and that such sacrifices are pleasing to God (Hebrews 13:16). God enriches us to be generous to others resulting in thankfulness to God (2 Corinthians 9:11).
"GO, THEREFORE, AND MAKE DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS, BAPTIZING THEM IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER AND OF THE SON AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. AND REMEMBER, I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE END OF THE AGE."
MATTHEW 28: 19 -20
